Part-Time Bookkeeper (Remote) – Hands-On, Flexible, Real-Time Support

I'm looking for a reliable part-time bookkeeper who is an EXPERT with Xero to help me with a range of tasks across my small bookkeeping practice. The work is varied and hands-on, and I’m looking for someone who can jump in and get things done with minimal fuss.

The Work

To start with, you'll be helping with:

• Daily bookkeeping - Xero
• Creating a spreadsheet to track client questions and follow-ups
• Historical clean-up jobs — including fixing up balance sheet issues like PayPal and Shopify loans, accounts receivable/payable, and other backdated transactions

Once you’re up to speed, I’ll also need help with:

• BAS preparation
• STP finalisation
• Ad hoc bookkeeping tasks that come up week to week

How We'll Work

Three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), I’m on the road for 1.5 hours in the morning and again in the afternoon. During that time, I’d like to work with you live over the phone while you use TeamViewer to access my laptop. It’s a great chance to get direct input as you go, especially for tasks that need a bit of back and forth.

And then for the remaining hours, you can work independently on tasks as needed

What I’m Looking For

• Solid experience with Xero Confident working with messy files and historical clean-up
• Can prepare a BAS and understand STP
• Comfortable using TeamViewer and working while we’re on a call
• Available during Australian business hours (or close to it)
• Clear communicator and not afraid to ask questions

Extra Skills That Would Help:

• Experience with Shopify, PayPal, or eCommerce clients
• Confident with Google Drive & Notion
• Worked with a bookkeeping firm or BAS agent before
