Purpose of the Role
The Recruitment & Rostering Manager is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of workforce recruitment and roster management to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery. The role ensures the organisation has the right staff, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time, while maintaining compliance with NDIS requirements, industrial obligations, and internal policies. This position plays a critical operational role in workforce optimisation, continuity of care, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for support workers and operational roles
- Manage job advertising, shortlisting, interviews, and reference checks
- Ensure compliance with pre-employment checks (NDIS Worker Screening, WWCC, right to work)
- Coordinate onboarding, inductions, and mandatory training requirements
- Maintain accurate recruitment and workforce records
2. Rostering & Workforce Allocation
- Develop, maintain, and optimise staff rosters in line with participant needs and funding
- Ensure rosters comply with SCHADS Award, employment contracts, and fatigue management principles
- Match staff skills, availability, and preferences with participant requirements
- Manage short-notice changes including leave, absences, and emergency cover
- Monitor overtime, penalties, and Agency workers
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure rostering and staffing practices align with NDIS Practice Standards
- Maintain accurate records of staff availability, qualifications, and currency of compliance documents
- Identify and escalate risks related to staffing shortages or non-compliance
- Support audits and internal reviews relating to workforce management
4. Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise with the HR Specialist for communication with participants, families, and internal teams regarding staffing and roster matters
- Communicate clearly with staff regarding shifts, changes, and expectations
- Work closely with service coordinators and operations teams to ensure continuity of care

Skills, Experience & Attributes
Essential
- Experience in recruitment, rostering, or workforce coordination (disability or care sector preferred)
- Strong understanding of SCHADS Award and workforce compliance
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Experience using rostering or workforce management systems
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards
- Qualification in HR, business, or a related field
