Position Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Offshore Data Engineer to support the automation, data integration, and reporting needs across our retail analytics ecosystem. This role will be responsible for maintaining and developing automation workflows, managing databases, and building BI dashboards that empower internal teams and client-facing insights. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong technical proficiency across automation platforms, SQL databases, scripting, and business intelligence tools.

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Scripting

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation workflows using OpenRPA (or equivalent tools like UiPath, Power Automate).
• Write and integrate scripts (PowerShell or equivalent) within RPA environments to enable end-to-end data movement and processing.
• Schedule and monitor automated jobs to ensure uptime and reliability of daily workflows.

Database Management

• Design and manage MS SQL databases to centralize data from multiple sources.
• Write complex T-SQL queries for ETL, analytics, and report back-ends.
• Optimize data storage and querying performance for scalability.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

• Build and maintain dashboards using Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot) and Power BI (DAX, Power Query).
• Create custom reports in Metabase and SSRS using SQL-based querying and visualization logic.
• Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable reports to internal stakeholders and external clients via email, dashboards, and web-based portals.

Systems Infrastructure

• Deploy and manage virtualized environments using Hyper-V and Ubuntu-based servers.
• Set up and maintain Docker containers for running services such as ERPNext, Python agents, Metabase, and OpenRPA.
• Perform backups, updates, and environment troubleshooting as needed.

ERP System Support

• Customize ERPNext through client/server-side scripting, custom apps, and workflows to manage internal data and process automation.
• Support data integrations between ERP and BI systems.

Advanced Scripting and Analysis

• Use Python for advanced data analysis, automation enhancements, and as an integration layer for BI/reporting tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, automation, or BI development.
• Hands-on expertise with:
  • OpenRPA (or similar: UiPath, Power Automate, Blue Prism)
  • MS SQL / T-SQL
  • Excel Power Query / Power Pivot
  • Power BI (DAX, Power Query)
  • Python scripting
  • Docker & Hyper-V administration
  • Ubuntu server configuration
• Strong knowledge of BI delivery via Excel, Power BI, Metabase, and SSRS.
• Experience customizing ERP systems (preferably ERPNext).
• Solid understanding of automation pipelines and business reporting workflows.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote environment.

• BI Tools: Tableau, Looker
• ERP Systems: NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Odoo, SAP Business One

• Candidate must be able to work in a secure and confidential manner, handling sensitive company and client data.
• Experience in CPG or retail analytics is a strong plus but not required.
