Your Daily Role and Responsibilities

• Transcribe medical dictations from healthcare professionals, converting audio recordings into accurate written reports, including patient histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic procedures.
• Review and edit transcribed documents for accuracy, consistency, and proper medical terminology, ensuring all patient information is correctly captured and formatted.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to clarify unclear information or resolve discrepancies in medical records.
• Manage multiple transcription projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Utilize specialized medical transcription software, word processing programs, and audio playback equipment to efficiently complete assignments.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant privacy laws.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on medical terminology, new procedures, and industry best practices.

Required Skills and Tools

• Excellent typing speed (60+ WPM) and accuracy
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology
• Proficiency in transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, Olympus ODMS)
• Attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to maintain confidentiality
• English language proficiency (written and comprehension)
• Certification from AHDI or similar recognized institution (preferred)
• 1-3 years of experience in medical transcription (entry-level to mid-level positions)
